First Grade Space Day!

Students experienced history first hand on Monday, April 17th, when the 8th grade went to the Illinois Holocaust Museum. Students have been studying the genocide for the past month in both history and ELA. They were led on a tour through the museum which includes an incredible amount of artifacts including a box car used to transport Jews to concentration camps. Students also heard from a speaker whose parents were Holocaust survivors. Using their experiences, students will be completing and presenting a project this week in history class.

Our therapy dog, Marnie, visited Ms. Buffington's preschool class and Mrs. Roger's second grade students today!

Ms. Pearson's fifth grade class has been studying metric and customary conversions.
Today, partners went around the school building and measured random items (and people!) in inches, feet, centimeters, or meters. They practiced their skills by converting each measurement afterward. It was a great way for them to see how converting measurements is a skill you use daily!
