The 4th through 8th grade band students participated in Band-O-Rama at Waltham School this weekend. The Jr. High Band performed two concert band pieces on Friday evening and did a fantastic job! On Saturday, 31 students performed solos (with piano accompaniment) that were judged and given ratings of 1-3 with first place ratings being the highest. Our students received 22 first place ratings, and 9 second and third place ratings. It was a great weekend to be a music Bulldog!

Environmental Club collected 59 pairs of eclipse glasses to donate to children in Latin America! This will give them the opportunity to view the eclipse (safely) in August.

Mrs. Rogers’ second graders had the privilege of having Mayor Jason Curran lead them in Junior Achievement sessions teaching them about communities, jobs, money, voting, and making choices. They have enjoyed seeing him each week and learning about how they can make a difference in their own community!

Environmental Club members and their families were invited to an Earth Day picnic last Saturday! After enjoying lunch, they hiked to Starved Rock and made their way to the French Canyon before heading back to explore the museum! Although it was chillier than they hoped, they had a great day enjoying nature and appreciating our planet, as well as each other's company!
