Ms. Eustice and Mrs. Zimmer's 8th grade classes joined forces and used their IReady Buddies to partner up and do reading stations. Covering and learning to master the Common Core State Standards for 8th grade proved to be way more fun and engaging with a partner!
Topics of the stations: Pick A Poem, Figurative Lang Sort, What's Your Genre?, What Can You Infer?, Types of Conflit Sort, That's So Ironic?, Main Idea vs Theme, Poetetic Task Card Sort, Literary Tasks, Summarizing and Paraphrasing, Aesop's Fables, Cause and Effect and Ethos, Pathos and Logos.





Ever wonder why her hair is so big? Or feel like you have ESPN or something? Or wish we could bake a cake filled with rainbows and smiles so everyone could eat and be happy?...audition for the school musical and find out! November 20th - 3:20 to 7:00 p.m. during Parent/Teacher Conferences

Happy National School Psychology Week to our OPS School Psychologist - Es Harris! During the week of November 6-10, schools throughout the United States celebrate this week to highlight the important work school psychologists do to help all students thrive. This year's theme is "Let's Grow Together," inspired by the importance of both personal and shared strengths in our growth as individuals and school communities in every season of life. OPS students at Lincoln and Washington Schools enjoyed an assembly this morning with Jonte Hall from the Harlem Wizards! The assembly included fun-filled comedic skits, ball-handling tricks, the ABC's of bullying, and the message to Never Give Up!

Good luck to OPS employees Amy Quinn and Amy Arthur as they take on the Harlem Wizards at LP tonight! The Harlem Wizards will visit Sellett Gym at L-P High School on Friday, November 3rd for an evening of great fun and fundraising. The Wizards will play a game against a team of local teachers and community leaders. The event is a fundraiser for the L-P High School Foundation as well as the elementary schools in our community. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. and the game begins at 7:00 p.m. Get tickets online at

Congratulations to the 7th Grade Girls' Basketball team for the Second Place win in the Vermilion Grade School Conference Tournament! The 7th grade team secured the #1 seed in their regional assignment at Seneca, and they will play November 13th at 4:30 p.m. Go Lady Bulldogs!


OPS SPIRIT DAY!


Washington School will be hosting a Veterans' Day Concert Friday, November 10th from 2:30 to 2:45 p.m. in honor and memory of our veterans. The doors will open at 2:15 p.m. to veterans and all of our OPS families to hear our band play patriotic songs on this important holiday!

The Annual Food Drive begins today!
The Washington School Student Council will run their annual food drive November 1st through November 10th. The food collected during the drive will be donated to the Illinois Valley Food Pantry. The class that collects the most items at Lincoln and at Washington will win a pizza party.
