Join us for Family Reading Night at Lincoln School Friday, November 15th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. There will be a Book Fair in the Library from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. SOS will sponsor a family reading time with holiday stories starting at 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. , and kids can make a holiday ornament for the City of Oglesby Christmas Tree during that time.


Spirit Day - Monday, November 11th


The Student Council at Washington School is organizing a Food Drive beginning November 11th through November 22nd. The food drive wil benefit the Illinois Valley Food Pantry. Items they are accepting and in need of are: cereal, noodles, mac and cheese, canned fruits and vegetables, peanut butter, soup, rice, hamburger helper, spaghetti sauce, sugar and jello. At Lincoln School, the class that donates the most items will earn a popcorn and movie party sponsored by the Washington Student Council! At Washington School, any individual that donates at least 25 items will win an additional Fun Friday with a treat!

Oglesby Washington Junior High would like to invite all veterans, service members, and their families to attend our Veterans Day band and choir concert on November 11th! The concert will take place in the Oglesby Washington gym at 2:45 pm. Our students have prepared a beautiful lineup of music to honor you and commemorate this day.

Mrs. Quinn's kindergarten ran a cookie election Monday and all students and staff were invited to participate. The cookie candidates were Frosted Cookie, Chocolate Chip Cookie, and a Stuffed Cookie. The winner was the Chocolate Chip Cookie!





Washington students, Laiken H. and Aubrey H., making a blob opera song (opera AI singers) and a poem based using AI based on poets like Emily Dickinson and Edgar Allan Poe.




The Climate and Culture Team revamped the spirit stick for Washington School! Instead of a whole class winning a stick for the highest percentage of spirited kiddos, we are now looking for that one individual that goes above and beyond in each one of the grade levels. The spirit award winner receives a one time pass for technology at lunch!!! They are also recognized with their spirit pom pom on their locker! The Friday Spirit Winners include Aiden Z., Vincent W., and Liam R. Way to go!

8th grade students finalized the egg drop challenge. A big thank you to the City of Oglesby for providing a lift to drop the projects from 30 feet!!!
Mrs. Nagle and the students made various designs to support precious cargo comparable to supply drops that are needed in areas of impasse.
The activity culminated units on physics and engineering!

Marnie celebrated her 1st birthday today with lots of treats, gifts, visits, kisses and fun! She visited each classroom today and we handed out birthday treats to all of the students! She enjoyed some nibbles of a donut with her third grade visitors and she even walked in her first parade!
