Washington School students, Biona U. and Hunter L., winners of the Meemic Masterpieces Poetic Rap Contest, will be featured at the Masterpieces Poetry Celebration Event which begins Monday, April 5 at 7:00 p.m. ET on Facebook.com/Meemic. Each night, Monday thru Friday (April 5-9) for 10-15 minutes, they will feature a group of winning poems and rap lyrics, some read by the student winners themselves. The poems and rap lyrics will showcase each student’s personal take on one of their many experiences in 2020 – the COVID-19 pandemic, challenging school life, and diversity discussions. The Meemic Foundation recognized Mrs. Zimmer, Washington Junior High Reading Teacher, who sponsored Biona U. and Hunter L. for the contest. Don’t miss the celebration honoring our OPS students!
