Welcome back to school! SOS has an exciting year planned! Spirit Wear is BACK and there are some great NEW items! Halloween Observance at Lincoln School

On Friday, October 31 Lincoln students will observe the Halloween holiday. The students at Lincoln School will parade in their costumes scheduled at 1:30 p.m. After parading their costumes, they will return to their classrooms for treats and class activities.


Parents are welcome to view the parade of costumes and visit the classrooms during the œtreat time. Students will remain in their classroom until the usual dismissal time. 


Costume guidelines:

  • Please be sure that costumes do not depict violence -“ no play knives, guns, or sharp objects as well as no gory costumes which are depicting blood or violence.
    • Students who do not follow these guidelines will not be allowed to participate in the parade of costumes.
  • Students should not wear their costumes to school and there will be time after lunch to change into their costume. Prior to dismissal, students will remove their costumes (safety issue) and be reminded to take their costumes home for evening trick-or-treating.

Lady Bulldogs

The 7th and 8th grade Lady Bulldog basketball teams opened their seasons Sept. 22nd at LaSalle Lincoln. The 7th graders were defeated by a score of 32-26 while the 8th grade won by a score of 41-12. They opened their home season Sept. 25th with the 7th grade losing to JFK by a score of 15-14 and the 8th grade winning 38-18. The teams were in action on Sept. 29th vs Mendota Northbrook with the 7th graders getting their first victory of the season by a score of 27-10. The 8th grade suffered their first loss of the season by a score of 43-18. Next game for the girls is Thursday, Oct. 2nd at Grand Ridge in conference action beginning at 5:00.

5th and 6th Grade Girls Basketball

 

The teams are off to a fantastic start! Both the 5th and 6th grade teams defeated Wallace September 22nd, which was their first regular away game. First home game was Tuesday, September 23rd against Marseilles with both teams winning. The winning streak continued against Grand Ridge with both teams winning again. The 6th grade defeated Peru Parkside Monday, September 29th. The next game is Thursday at home vs. Milton Pope.

 

Each team also placed 2nd at the Holy Family Tournament.
