Cafeteria Worker/Cook

Full time cafeteria worker/cook responsible for food service related business and personal management; cooperatively working with the Food Service Director on all food service duties and cafeteria responsibilities including but not limited to food preparation, kitchen preparation, as well as maintaining a clean work area. The position is to begin immediately for the 2021-2022 school year.

Qualifications are: High School Degree, Food Service Certification/License, preferred at least 1 year experience in large quantity meal preparation and state, federal, local reporting; must have strong human relations and communication skills.

Junior High Special Education Teacher

Full-Time junior high position working with 6-7-8 grades.  The instructor should be a highly motivated elementary teacher knowledgeable of RtI process, Illinois Standards and differentiated instruction.  

The duties entail: 

  • Using data to design and implement daily lessons and interventions. 

  • Using research-based instructional strategies to deliver content to classes. 

  • Delivering PBIS lessons and reinforcing school expectations. 

  • Participating in the school’s professional learning communities to further develop the building. 

  • Providing continuous proactive communication with students, families and district personnel.

Substitute Teaching Positions
For those interested in being a substitute teacher at Oglesby Public School District, a Substitute Teacher Authorization form and a copy of your background check from the Regional Office of Education are required. The district also has a Substitute Teacher Packet that must be completed before substitutes are placed on the call list. The packets are available in the District Office at Lincoln School.

The district also employs substitutes for aide positions which requires a Paraprofessional Educator Endorsement through the State of Illinois. Paraprofessional aides will also need to have a background check processed through the district at their own expense, as well as complete the Substitute Teacher Packet available in the District Office at Lincoln School.

Cafeteria Substitute
We are seeking qualified substitutes for our cafeteria staff on an as needed basis. People interested in being a substitute must have their Food Handlers or Food Sanitation license. All substitute workers will need a completed background check with ROE 35. Hours are 6:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Duties include helping with the preparation, cooking, distribution, and cleanup.
